We’re all for community. We begin by recruiting a peer supporter in a community that needs us.

Our journey with a community begins by recruiting a peer supporter. The peer supporter is a person living with a disability and willing to work with us for change.

We currently work with four communities in the Cape Winelands.

Gabriel is newly appointed from our Peer Support Class of 2025. He is an old hand when it comes to community development and loves helping people of all ages.

Klapmuts

Francois is newly appointed from our Peer Support Class of 2025. He is a friendly and approachable community member and loves his rugby!

Tracey-Lee De Wee

Groendal

Tracey-Lee is newly appointed from our Peer Support Class of 2025. She is initially a bit shy, but loves connecting with others and has grown in leaps and bounds during her training.

Wendell Leconie

Macassar

Oom Wendell has been a volunteer group leader in Macassar for many years. He is loveable, friendly and very loyal. He’s also an avid advocate for the rights of his peers with disabilities in their community.

Kayamandi

Atlehang is newly appointed from our Peer Support Class of 2025. She is friendly and determined and loves helping her peers.

Michelle Nieuwoudt

General Manager

She is a qualified social worker with over 30 years of experience across South Africa in community development, child protection, adoption services and psychosocial support. Michelle specialises in collaboration building, fundraising and trauma-informed care. Her passion is human behaviour and holistic healing of relationships and communities.

Anjeline Frans

Senior Social Worker

She has been appointed as the organisation’s Senior Social Worker with 13 years of experience in the social work field. She is passionate about community development, empowerment, and creating supportive spaces where individuals can recognize their own abilities, build confidence, and work towards achieving their personal goals.

Verity Abrahams

Social Auxiliary Worker

Verity also joined us in Sept 25 after a career change from Office management to her true passion for helping people. She is hardworking and passionate, always ready to help and function independent in our group exercise programme. She makes parenting teenagers look like a breeze!

Helene Oosthuizen

Administrator

Helene is a qualified Speech and Hearing Teacher with extensive experience in administration and coordination across academic institutions, as well as the wine and tourism industries. Recognised for her strong organisational, creative, and administrative skills, she continues to contribute her expertise on a part-time basis Outside of work, she contributes her time to a local NGO, helping to revitalise and maintain their gardens, and enjoys the spending time with her ageing – but still energetic – Welsh Terrier.
 

Phumeza Mpondo

Social Auxiliary Worker

Phumeza qualified as a social auxiliary Worker in 2017 and has experience in working with people with disabilities. She worked at Cape Town Society for the Blind and also at Cape Mental Health. She loves group work and community work. She has three children and she is a loving wife.

We are ultimately governed by our volunteer Management Committee.
Corporate governance and representation are enormously important to us.

Faisal Rahmatallah

Faisal is a Director and investor involved in a variety of SME’s with significant development potential. He has an MBA from Harvard and a MA from Oxford. He joined the management team in May 25.

Jeanneret Momberg

Jeanneret is a seasoned fundraising and strategic partnerships professional with over 25 years of executive leadership experience, primarily in Stellenbosch’s wine, tourism, and non-profit sectors. She joined our management team in May 25.

Jacolene Quinn

Jacolene has a strong financial background and currently works as treasurer at a prominent holding
company. She loves optimising and has a keen eye for spotting new opportunities.

Denzil Cowley

Denzil is an experienced and results-driven Social Work professional with a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work and over 30 years of experience in the public sector, specialising in program management, strategic planning, financial oversight and staff empowerment. 

Wiana de Beer

Wiana is compassionate and driven professional with over 20 years of diverse experience. She has a proven track record in training and marketing with a strong focus on empowering individuals through skills development. She is deeply committed to social upliftment and inclusion.

Renske Minnaar
(Volunteer Repositioning leader)

Renske is a strategic, results-driven executive with 38 years of leadership experience across the wine, tourism, and non-profit sectors. She brings expertise in organisational transformation, fundraising, strategic partnerships, and brand development, with a proven track record of uplifting communities through vocational training and mentoring.
